Despite attempts for normalization | Seven members of Syrian regime kil*led under Turkish shelling this week
Despite continuous talks regarding normalizing relations between Turkey and the Syrian regime with Russian mediation since 2022, the military field situations haven’t calmed completely due to the conflict of interests between both parties, and ongoing attacks by Turkish forces on positions of the regime at frontlines in Manbij, Al-Raqqa and Aleppo countryside.
According to reliable sources, these attacks left seven members of the regime killed under Turkish shelling on positions at frontlines.
Meanwhile, two members of the regime were killed in November under Turkish artillery shelling on Alawat Village in Manbij countryside eastern of Aleppo, while five others were killed on the sixth day of the same month in an attack by factions of the “national Army” in Abdokawy Village in Al-Raqqa countryside.
The tension between Turkey and Syria has been escalating in recent years especially following the series of Turkish military attacks that started 2018, where Turkish forces took control over several areas in northern of Syria starting with Efrin in “Olive Branch” operation all the way to “Euphrates Shield” and “Peace Spring” areas, deepening the disputes between both parties despite attempts of mediation.
