Security operation | SDF special units arrest individual accused of “funding families of ISIS members” inhabiting camps in Al-Hasakah city

Al-Hasakah province: Special units of Syrian Democratic Forces arrested a man accused of “belonging to an ISIS cell” in a new security operation in Al-Hasakah city, after having circled and stormed his house.

The arrested man is accused of “collecting zakat secretly with the aim of funding families of ISIS members inhabiting camps in north-east Syria. The man is also accused of “sending death threats to everyone refusing to pay zakat.”

The security forces also found weapons, ammunitions and equipment in the house of the man who was taken to a security centre.

It is worth noting that ISIS cells are active and numerous in SDF-controlled areas, where they continue launching surprise attacks against civilians and combatants, despite the frequent joint security operations by SDF and International Coalition Forces.

On October 9, SOHR sources reported that one person was killed and another was arrested following an operation carried out by “SDF” forces with the participation of the “International Coalition” forces, during a raid on a house in Sweidan Jazirah town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, on charges of belonging to “ISIS” cells, amid intensive flight of the “coalition” aircraft in the sky of the region. According to the information, the detainee had previously been arrested several times by “SDF” members.
