The killer remains unknown | Syrians mark first anniversary of massacre at military academy in Homs

Today, October 5, marks the first anniversary of the bloody attack on the Military college in Homs, which resulted in the largest massacre among regime forces, most of whom were graduating officers.

On October 5, 2023, an unknown drones attacked gatherings in the military college and its surrounding area in Al-Wa’er neighborhood in Homs just minutes after the conclusion of a graduation ceremony for a group of officers.
The Syrian Observatory documented the deaths of 135 people.
The fatalities can be distributed as follows:

56 civilians, including 39 women and a child.

79 combatants, including 67 newly graduated soldiers.

The Syrian regime and Russia accused HTS in cooperation with Ukraine, of being responsible for the attack on the military college.
Meanwhile, Russian fighter jets executed airstrikes on Idlib.
