Following military movements by Israeli forces near ceasefire line | Israel attacks position in Al-Qunaitrah countryside

Israeli forces shelled the road connecting the towns of Briqueh and Bir Ajm in Al-Qunaitrah countryside near the border strip with the occupied Syrian Golan, but no casualties were reported.
This attack comes after military movements by Israeli forces a few days ago near the border strip between Al-Qunaitrah province and the occupied Syrian Golan, where a large number of Israeli tanks and vehicles were deployed in the occupied Syrian Golan.

In the past months, Israel has begun opening corridors in the occupied Syrian Golan and detonating minefields several times, along the ceasefire line, in parallel with the escalation of targeting and the arrival of elite forces from Iranian militias to southern Syria
Meanwhile, Russian forces established 17 observation points in the areas adjacent to the occupied Syrian Golan.

SOHR documented 96 attacks in 2024: 78 airstrikes and 18 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 185 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 251 combatants and injured 176 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

* 25 Iranian members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

* 45 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

* 28 Iraqi persons.

* 75 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

* 24 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

* 54 regime soldiers.

* Two unidentified persons.

In addition, those attacks left 30 civilians, including two children and eight women, dead and nearly 45 other civilians injured.

It is worth noting that one of those attacks killed Baraa Al-Qaterji, a prominent businessman close to Iranians, and his cousin.

The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

* Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 41 attacks.

* Daraa: 17 attacks.

* Homs: 18 attacks.

* Al-Quneitra: Nine attacks.

* Tartus: Three attack.

* Deir Ezzor: Five attack.

* Aleppo: Two attacks.

* Hama: Two attacks.

* Al-Suwaidaa: One attack.

* Latakia: One attack.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
