Ongoing security chaos | Leader of “popular committee” of Military Intelligence Division in Daraa countryside injured
Daraa province: Daraa province is witnessing constant tension and intermittent clashes between various factions, which increases the state of security instability in the region, as a result of the presence of many armed parties there with the formal control of regime forces there, which causes many crimes and assassinations.
In that context, and in an incident of security chaos, the leader of one of the popular committees of the Military Intelligence Division was injured, as a result of violent clashes during which machineguns and rocket-propelled grenades were used, between members of the popular committees and local groups in Mahjah town, north of Daraa. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
This comes in light of the security chaos within regime areas in Daraa.
Since early 2024, SOHR activists have documented 193 incidents of security disorder in Daraa province, which left 226 people dead; and they are as follows:
* 69 civilians, including five women and 18 children.
* 64 regime soldiers, members and collaborators with regime security services.
* 13 men accused of “involving in drug business.”
* Five members of the Russian-backed 8th Brigade.
* 16 ISIS members, including a commander.
* 50 members of local factions.
* A regime dissident colonel.
* Six persons collaborating with the Lebanese Hezbollah.
* A former commander of the armed opposition factions.
* One unidentified person.
