Abandoned new-born babies | New-born baby boy found in a neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city

Deir Ezzor province: Residents found a new-born baby boy abandoned by his parents for unknown reasons and left near “Beir Ma’ajoun” park in Al-Qusour neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city.

 

This coincided with the growing phenomenon of abandoned new-born babies over different reasons, mainly the dreadful living conditions and illegal relationships without marriage.

 

Accordingly, The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented 23 cases of abandoned new-born babies in all zones of influence across Syria since early 2024; they are distributed as follows:

 

  • SDF-held areas: 12 cases, two of whom were found dead.

 

  • HTS-controlled areas: Four cases.

 

  • Regime-controlled areas: Four case.

 

  • “Euphrates Shield” area: One case.

 

  • “Olive Branch” area: Two case.
