Ongoing deportation | Turkish authorities forcibly deport 250 Syrian refugees from their territory

Yesterday, the Turkish authorities forcibly deported 250 Syrian refugees from their territory, despite having a temporary protection card (Kimlik), towards Syrian territory through Bab Al-Salamah crossing between Turkish territory and “Euphrates Shield” area, which is controlled by Turkish-backed factions in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Since the beginning of the year, the Turkish authorities have forcibly deported tens of thousands of Syrians who hold temporary protection cards toward Syrian territory through border crossings, despite the poor living and security conditions in the areas of northern Syria and the displacement camps that lack the minimum living standards.
On November 1, SOHR reported that the Turkish authorities forcibly deported 215 Syrians to the crossings in “Euphrates Shield” areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where 200 Syrians on 4 buses arrived to the Bab Al-Salamah crossing. The Turkish authorities also transferred 13 Syrians to Jarablus border crossing, and took their fingerprints and eye scans to ensure that they would not return to their territory. They also forced them to put their fingerprints on papers proving their voluntary return to Syria.
