Rif Dimashq | Israeli strikes on Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian militias kill and injure people and destroy military equipment

Two members of Iranian-backed militias of non-Syrian nationality were killed, and a regime soldier was killed and four others were injured, as a result of the Israeli strikes on Rif Dimashq in the early hours of Wednesday, and the death toll is likely to rise due to information about other fatalities. The Israeli strikes resulted in the destruction of military and logistic equipment of the Iranian militias in the targeted places which are positions of Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian militias near Al-Dimas airport and Al-Sabourah area. It is not known whether the destroyed equipment is related to drones, as the militias use their positions there to assemble the drones manufactured in Iran. Moreover, the Israeli strikes caused damage to the buildings surrounding the targeted positions, including a house of a person who is likely to be civilian.
SOHR documented 20 attacks in 2023: 16 airstrikes and four rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 46 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 52 combatants and injured 54 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:
• 19 regime soldiers and officers.
• 20 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.
• Six members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
• Four Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.
• Three members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
In addition, those attacks left a man and a woman dead and other civilians injured.
The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

• Hama: one attack.
• Tartus: two attack.
