New murder in regime-controlled areas | Young man kills child in Latakia countryside

Latakia countryside: SOHR sources have reported that a three-year-old boy died, after having been stabbed with a sharp tool by a 25-year-old man in the regime-controlled village of Karasana in Latakia countryside for unknown reasons.

 

This coincides with the escalating crime rate in regime-controlled areas in light of the deteriorating security situation.

 

The Syrian Observatory has documented 85 murders in regime-controlled areas since early 2023, where domestic violence and armed robbery were behind some of these murders, while motives behind the others remained unknown. These murder crimes left 92 fatalities: 22 women, 58 young and adult men and 12 children. The fatalities are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Rif Dimashq: 15 murder crimes left a woman, two children and 13 men dead.

 

  • Latakia: 12 murder crimes left four men, eight women and three children dead.

 

  • Al-Suwaidaa: 15 murder crimes left two children, ten men and three women dead.

 

  • Homs: Seven murder crimes left five men, a woman, a young man and a child dead

 

  • Hama: Three murder crimes left three men dead.

 

  • Daraa: 11 murder crimes left ten men and two women dead.

 

  • Damascus: Nine murder crimes left three women, a child and five men dead.

 

  • Aleppo: Four murder crimes left three children and two women dead.

 

  • Deir Ezzor: Six murders crime left seven men dead.

 

  • Al-Hasakah: One murder crime left one woman dead.

 

  • Al-Qunaitrah: One murder crime left one young man dead.

 

  • Tartus: One murder crime left one woman dead.
