Death toll update | 35 people killed and injured, one third are children, in car-bomb explosion in Turkish-held city of Afrin in Aleppo countryside
SOHR sources say that the death toll continues to rise due to the violent car-bomb explosion in the city of Afrin this afternoon. The death toll has risen to six civilians, including three children in Al-Sina’a neighbourhood in the city controlled by Turkish forces and proxy factions in the north-western Aleppo countryside.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, the car-bomb was a crane operated by a man who did not know that his vehicle was booby-trapped, and his children were with him when it exploded.
The death toll is expected to rise, as 29 injured, some seriously, including nine children under the age of eighteen.
SOHR sources have reported a car-bomb explosion, this afternoon, in Al-Sina’a neighbourhood in Afrin city, which is under the control of Turkish forces and the factions of “Olive Branch” operations room in the north-western countryside of Aleppo. The explosion has left large number of casualties, as SOHR initial reports confirm the death of two people, including a child, and the injury of 16 others. It is worth noting that Al-Sina’a neighbourhood is a crowded area with many shops and large number of civilians and passers-by.
It is also worth noting that this blast is the most violent one and the first car-bomb explosion in Afrin in 2021.
