Putin: there must be agreement on the future of Syria

New Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia’s position on how to resolve the situation in Syria.Putin said at a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Moscow on Friday: “Our position is well known – We proceed from the need for both parties to the conflict in Syria to an agreement on the future of this country before thinking about the exclusion of the current leaders from power.”
He added: “should, first, to understand how to ensure respect for the rights and legitimate interests of the various ethnic and religious groups in the country before proceeding to make changes there. And not vice versa, any deportation Bashar al-Assad first and then think about how to address the situation later.”

He Putin: “We have examples of the consequences of adopting such a method to solve problems in Libya and other countries. We know what got things in Libya from the collapse of the state and killed diplomats including the U.S. ambassador – to chaos, in a nutshell.” 
President Putin stressed that no one wants chaos in the immediate vicinity of its borders.
