New attack | Israeli airstrike targets apartment in Sayeda Zeinab area, leaving casualties
Rif Dimashq province: Israeli fighter jets executed an airstrike targeting two buildings inhabited by members of Hezbollah near Sayeda Zeinab municipality in Rif Dimashq.
According to SOHR sources, the Israeli missiles targeted specific individuals in an apartment in one of the buildings, killing three persons and injuring others.
SOHR documented 146 attacks in 2024: 120 airstrikes and 26 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 259 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 282 combatants and injured 216 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:
- 25 Iranian members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
- 54 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
- 28 Iraqi persons.
- 84 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.
- 25 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.
- 62 regime soldiers.
- Four unidentified persons.
In addition, those attacks left 51 civilians, including six children and 13 women, dead and nearly 58 other civilians injured.
It is worth noting that one of those attacks killed Baraa Al-Qaterji, a prominent businessman close to Iranians, and his cousin.
The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:
- Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 52 attacks.
- Daraa: 17 attacks.
- Homs: 46 attacks.
- Al-Quneitra: 16 attacks.
- Tartus: Three attacks.
- Deir Ezzor: Five attacks.
- Aleppo: Three attacks.
- Hama: Four attacks.
- Latakia: Two attacks.
- Al-Suwaidaa: Three attacks.
- Idlib: One attack.
SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
