Afrin | Turkish intelligence and military police launch new arrest campaign

Turkish intelligence, in cooperation with the “Military Police”, carried out a series of arrests of several civilians in Afrin region in northern Syria during the past few days, without revealing clear reasons for the arrests or the charges against them.
The arrests included a civilian from “Dikiah” village in Bulbul district, where Turkish intelligence arrested him without clarifying the reason. Earlier, a patrol of the “Military Police” arrested another civilian from “Aljia” village in Sharan district in Afrin countryside, shortly after his arrival in Syria, returning from Lebanon.
The Turkish intelligence also arrested two civilians from Maidank town, on charges of their previous association with the Autonomous Administration. In a related context, the military police arrested another civilian from Afrin city from his house in Al-Ashrafiah neighbourhood, on charges of working in the internal security forces “Asayish” of the Autonomous Administration during its control over Afrin city, after he was forcibly deported from Turkey.
