New attack | ISIS members assassinate the head of local council in northern Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: The head of the local council for Al-Azbah and Marrat areas in northern Deir Ezzor countryside, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen believed to be of ISIS cells on the main street in Al-Azbah town within SDF-held areas. The attack also left a woman and a child injured, while they were near the targeted site.
ISIS members escalate their attacks on positions in SDF-held areas in northeastern Syria, targeting civilians, combatants and workers with the “Autonomous Administration.”

SOHR has documented 226 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks, executions and explosions targeting military and security forces, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 99 fatalities:

63 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

12 ISIS members.

24 civilians, including a child, a witch and four guards of civil institutions.

These operations are distributed regionally as follows:

Deir Ezzor: 195 attacks left 46 combatants, 18 civilians, including a child and two women, and eight ISIS members dead.

Al-Hasakah: 16 attacks left ten combatants, four ISIS members and a civilian dead.

Al-Raqqah: 14 attacks left seven combatants and five civilians, including four guards of civil institutions of the Autonomous Administration, dead.

Aleppo: One operation left no fatalities.
