For one day weekly | Military Police opens Abu Al-Zandin crossing for transit between regime areas and “Euphrates Shield”

Aleppo province: In a new step, the military police within the areas held by the Turkish forces and their proxies announced the opening of Abu Al-Zandin crossing for transit, where those coming from regime areas will be allowed to cross for one day a week, while another day will be allocated for those leaving northern Syria towards regime areas.
According to information, the crossing witnessed today the arrival of dozens of cars carrying passengers heading towards regime-held areas.
On October 23, the Ministry of Defence in the “Interim Government” issued a statement announcing the opening of Abu Al-Zandein crossing, which connects regime-held areas and areas controlled by pro-Turkey factions in “Euphrates Shield,” under the pretext of receiving civilians coming from Lebanon and regime-held areas.
This decision follows incidents where refugees were subjected to theft, looting, and large extortion levies imposed by ‘Zukouri’ group, which is active near Aoun Al-Dadat crossing in eastern Aleppo.
It is worth noting that Aoun Al-Dadat crossing links areas controlled by “National Army” factions with areas controlled by “Manbij Military Council.”
On October 26, a number of protesters closed M4 highway at Abu Al-Zandin crossing, which connects the areas of the “Euphrates Shield” factions and the regime forces, with earth mounds, in a move aimed at preventing trucks and cars from passing towards Al-Bab city, east of Aleppo, in rejection of the decision of the Ministry of Defence in the Syrian Interim Government to open the crossing. This protest measure comes after the ministry announced its intention to receive civilians coming from Lebanon and from regime-held areas through Abu Al-Zandin crossing.
