New attack | Eight people killed and wounded in Israeli airstrikes on Al-Qusayr city and countryside in south-western Homs

Homs province: Israel fighter jets executed three airstrikes on Jisr Al-Duff area to the south of Al-Qusayr city near the water station, warehouses in the industrial area in Al-Qusayr city and other sites near Hush Al-Sayed Ali and Mashari’ Al-Qa’ area near the Syria-Lebanon border.

SOHR activists have reported hearing loud explosions in the region, while plumes of smoke were seen in the targeted sites. This coincided with attempts by regime air-defences to intercept the Israeli missiles.

The Israeli airstrikes left three unidentified persons dead and five civilians injured.

SOHR documented 134 attacks in 2024: 109 airstrikes and 25 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 210 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 271 combatants and injured 188 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

  • 25 Iranian members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

  • 52 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

  • 28 Iraqi persons.

  • 75 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

  • 24 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

  • 62 regime soldiers.

  • Five unidentified persons.

In addition, those attacks left 43 civilians, including six children, 12 women and a Lebanese man, dead and nearly 58 other civilians injured.

The total civilian death toll includes a Yemeni doctor, his wife and their three children, two women, a child and a man who were killed in the Israeli strike which targeted a building in Al-Mazzah neighbourhood in Damascus.

It is worth noting that one of those attacks killed Baraa Al-Qaterji, a prominent businessman close to Iranians, and his cousin.

The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

  • Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 50 attacks.

  • Daraa: 17 attacks.

  • Homs: 38 attacks.

  • Al-Quneitra: 16 attacks.

  • Tartus: Three attacks.

  • Deir Ezzor: Five attacks.

  • Aleppo: Two attacks.

  • Hama: Four attacks.

  • Al-Suwaidaa: Two attacks.

  • Latakia: Two attacks.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
