Military escalation | Young man and girl injured in a town eastern of Idlib

A young man and a ten year-old girl were injured after regime forces fired missiles on Sarmin Town in eastern Idlib countryside.

Since the early hours of today, the “Putin-Erdogan” area has witnessed a remarkable ground escalation by regime forces on various areas in the countryside of Aleppo, Hama and Idlib.
In this context, regime forces fired heavy artillery shells on the villages of Kafar Taal, Al-Asous, Al-Qasr and Kafar Ammah in the western countryside of Aleppo, and the vicinity of Al-Ankawi village and Khirbat Al-Naqous in Sahil Al-Ghab area in the western countryside of Hama, in addition to Al-Barah in the Jabal Al-Zawiyah area in the southern countryside of Idlib, while no causalities were reported.

Since early 2024, SOHR has documented 338 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks by ground forces, infiltration operations, gunfire by snipers, bombardment, clashes and kamikaze drone attacks, which left 374 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 134 combatants, including a Turkish soldier, and 190 civilians, including nine women and 41 children, injured.

The fatalities can be distributed as follows:

39 civilians, including 15 children and four women.

235 members of regime forces, including 28 officers.

82 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham.

Five members of “Ansar Al-Islam” faction.

Two members of “Jaysh Al-Nasr.”

Two members of “Jaysh Al-Ahrar.”

Three jihadists, including a jihadist of Turkish descent.

A member of “Al-Hamzah” Division.

Three members of “Al-Sham Corps.”

One member of the “Public Resistance” which operates under the banner of “Al-Fath Al-Mubin” operations room.

One member of the “Thowwar Al-Sham” Battalion which operates under the banner of “Al-Fath Al-Mubin” operations room.
