To avoid airstrikes | Iran-backed militias take more precautionary measures in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Iran-backed militias in Deir Ezzor City took major security precautions aiming to reduce possibility of attacks by warplanes of Israeli and “International Coalition” forces, where the militias removed almost all their banners and flags and prevented military vehicles from stopping at their headquarters.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the latest measures included the evacuation of a drone assembly centre located next to the customs building on Port Saeed Street, in addition to transferring weapons and military equipment to the tunnel network, which was recently prepared by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in the Al-Ommal, Al-Hamidiyah neighbuorhoods and the old airport in Deir Ezzor.

On October 21, SOHR sources reported that Iranian militias began to reduce their public presence in Al-Bokamal city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor and areas near the Syrian-Iraqi border, as many headquarters in the security zones were evacuated of foreign and local members and a very limited number of local members were kept as guards only. The city also witnessed a significant decrease in the presence of members and in the activity of patrols and deployed checkpoints, which were supervised by militias such as the Iranian “Revolutionary Guard” and the Afghan “Fatmiyoun”.
