New attack | Two regime soldiers and Lebanese person kil*led by Israeli fighter jets at borders between Syria and Lebanon

Homs province: Israeli fighter jets carried out an airstrike on Matraba crossing that connects Lebanese territory to Al-Qosair countryside south western of Homs, where two regime soldiers and a Lebanese person were killed and the crossing suffer major material damages.

It is worth noting that the crossing was previously attacked by Israeli fighter jets and was put out of service due to the shelling in late September, where four members of the Military Intelligence were injured.

SOHR documented 128 attacks in 2024: 104 airstrikes and 24 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 205 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 266 combatants and injured 188 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

• 25 Iranian members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

• 50 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

• 28 Iraqi persons.

• 75 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

• 24 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

• 62 regime soldiers.

• An unidentified person killed near “Al-Moalem” roundabout in Al-Qunaitrah.

• An unidentified person killed in Kafar Sousah.

In addition, those attacks left 43 civilians, including Yemeni doctor and his wife and three children, two children, a Lebanese person and nine women, dead and nearly 53 other civilians injured.

It is worth noting that one of those attacks killed Baraa Al-Qaterji, a prominent businessman close to Iranians, and his cousin.

The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

• Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 50 attacks.

• Daraa: 17 attacks.

• Homs: 34 attacks.

• Al-Quneitra: 15 attacks.

• Tartus: Three attacks.

• Deir Ezzor: Five attacks.

• Aleppo: Two attacks.

• Hama: Four attacks.

• Al-Suwaidaa: Two attacks.

• Latakia: Two attacks.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
