New assas*sination | Israeli forces ki*ll weapons official of Hezbollah and his companion in Al-Mazza in Damascus

A commander of Hezbollah and his companion were killed in an Israeli attack on a vehicle in Al-Mazza neighbourhood in Damascus, near “Al-Sinwar” condolence council in the centre of Al-Mazza in Damascus.

According to reliable SOHR sources, one of the victims owned a Syrian military I.D and they are the weapons official of Hezbollah “Abo Hassan” and his companion “Abo Abd Allah”, and it is still unknown whether if “Abo Salah” the financial official of Hezbollah was in the same car or not.

SOHR documented 119 attacks in 2024: 97 airstrikes and 22 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 200 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 259 combatants and injured 181 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

• 25 Iranian members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

• 50 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

• 28 Iraqi persons.

• 75 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

• 24 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

• 56 regime soldiers.

• An unidentified person killed near “Al-Moalem” roundabout in Al-Qunaitrah.

In addition, those attacks left 41 civilians, including Yemeni doctor and his wife and three children, two children and nine women, dead and nearly 53 other civilians injured.

It is worth noting that one of those attacks killed Baraa Al-Qaterji, a prominent businessman close to Iranians, and his cousin.

The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

• Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 47 attacks.

• Daraa: 17 attacks.

• Homs: 30 attacks.

• Al-Quneitra: 13 attacks.

• Tartus: Three attacks.

• Deir Ezzor: Five attacks.

• Aleppo: Two attacks.

• Hama: Four attacks.

• Al-Suwaidaa: One attack.

• Latakia: Two attacks.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
