Amid ongoing tension in region | US helicopters fly over banks of Euphrates River and the vicinity of Koniko gas field base
Deir Ezzor province: Villages and towns near the US military base in “Koniko” gas field and the banks of Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor countryside witnessed intensive flight of the US helicopters, amid ongoing tensions between Iranian-backed militias and US forces in the region.
US forces continue to reinforce their military bases in preparation for any potential attacks by Iranian-backed groups and also continue their bombardment on areas controlled by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias.
Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that a military convoy of the “International Coalition” forces left Al-Shaddadi base in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah, including more than 100 vehicles loaded with military and logistical equipment, and headed to the largest American bases inside Syrian territory in Al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor countryside.
On October 19, SOHR sources reported that Iran-backed groups fired a missile towards the US base in Koniko Gas Field.
In return, the US forces responded to the source of fire. However, no casualties were reported.
Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that US forces stationed in the base of Koniko Gas Field in Deir Ezzor countryside, fired artillery shells on positions of the regime and Iranian militias near Deir Ezzor City.
