Israeli attack | Airstrikes target one of “unofficial” crossings in Al-Qusayr countryside on Syrian-Lebanese border

Homs province: Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes targeting the “unofficial” Jarmash crossing between Syria and Lebanon, and Hawsh Al-Sayyid area in Al-Qusayr countryside in the south-western countryside of Homs. No causalities were reported. This comes in light of Israel’s attempt to cut off the border to prevent Hezbollah from transferring weapons, as well as obstructing the entry of humanitarian aid to affected people in Lebanon.

SOHR documented 112 attacks in 2024: 92 airstrikes and 20 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 194 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 257 combatants and injured 181 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

* 25 Iranian members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

* 47 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

* 28 Iraqi persons.

* 75 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

* 24 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

* 56 regime soldiers.

* One unidentified person killed in a building in Al-Mazzeh
An unidentified person killed near “Al-Moalem” roundabout in Al-Qunaitrah.

In addition, those attacks left 40 civilians, including Yemeni doctor and his wife and three children, two children and eight women, dead and nearly 52 other civilians injured.

It is worth noting that one of those attacks killed Baraa Al-Qaterji, a prominent businessman close to Iranians, and his cousin.

The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

* Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 45 attacks.

* Daraa: 17 attacks.

* Homs: 27 attacks.

* Al-Quneitra: 11 attacks.

* Tartus: Three attacks.

* Deir Ezzor: Five attacks.

* Aleppo: Two attacks.

* Hama: Four attacks.

* Al-Suwaidaa: One attack.

* Latakia: One attack.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
