48 hours after de*ath of Russian soldiers | Iranian militias attack US base with drones in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: The Airforce Defences of the US base in “Koniko” Field in Deir Ezzor countryside blocked an attack by at least one drone launched by Iran-backed groups from an unknown destination, where the drone was shot down before reaching the base.

On the same context, the base witnessed major mobilization by US forces as heavy artillery shells were fired on positions of Iran-backed militias in Al-Mari’iya, Al-Jafra, Huwayjat Sakr and the outskirts of Deir Ezzor Airport.

Earlier today, SOHR activists reported that two Russian officers, three officers of regime forces, including two Brigadier Generals and two unidentified persons, were killed due to unknown artillery fire on October 12, on the area between Khasham and Hatlah in Deir Ezzor city within areas controlled by regime forces and Iranian-backed militias, where Russian forces were accompanied by the regime forces.
The attack coincided with the flight of drones and artillery shelling by International Coalition Forces stationed at Koniko gas facility in northern Deir Ezzor countryside, which escalated tensions in the region.
According to reliable SOHR sources the Russian officers were at the site to coordinate and deploy at military headquarters after the reduction of Iranian-backed militias, fearing they would be targeted by International Coalition Forces or Israel, amid ongoing Israeli military escalation.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that International Coalition Forces stationed in base of Koniko Field in Deir Ezzor countryside, fired missiles on the area of Deir Ezzor Military Airport, where regime forces and Iranian militias are stationed. However, no casualties were reported.
