Dea*th toll update | Young girl and three people kil*led under Israeli attacks on a house in Damascus
A young girl was killed under the Israeli shelling on a building in Al-Mazza Villas neighbourhood in Damascus, raising the number of casualties to four, following an attack on a three-story residential building that is frequented by commanders of Hezbollah and Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
It is worth noting that Israel launched an attack nearly 500 metres away from the building.
SOHR documented 93 attacks in 2024: 76 airstrikes and 17 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 184 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 250 combatants and injured 177 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:
• 24 Iranian members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
• 43 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
• 28 Iraqi persons.
• 75 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.
• 23 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.
• 54 regime soldiers.
• Three unidentified persons.
In addition, those attacks left 29 civilians, including two children and seven women, dead and nearly 45 other civilians injured.
It is worth noting that one of those attacks killed Baraa Al-Qaterji, a prominent businessman close to Iranians, and his cousin.
The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:
• Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 40 attacks.
• Daraa: 17 attacks.
• Homs: 18 attacks.
• Al-Quneitra: Eight attacks.
• Tartus: Three attack.
• Deir Ezzor: Five attack.
• Aleppo: Two attacks.
• Hama: Two attacks.
• Al-Suwaidaa: One attack.
SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
