Ongoing violations | Displaced civilian from Afrin arrested by regime state security services for unknown reasons

Aleppo province: Members of the regime state security services stationed at Al-Jazirah checkpoint arbitrarily arrested a displaced civilian from Afrin city on September 26, while he was heading from Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhood to the centre of Aleppo province. The man was taken to the state security centre in Aleppo, while reasons behind his arrest remain unknown.

Aleppo province has experienced frequent violations by security services and escalating arbitrary arrests.

On September 26, SOHR sources reported that members of the Military Intelligence Department arbitrarily arrested a civilian in the capital Damascus, with no information regarding the charges pressed against him, and he was taken to a security centre. It is worth noting that the civilian hails from Bakha’a Town in Al-Qalmoun area in Rif Dimashq.
