After collapse of IS*IS | Women in Deir Ezzor become victims of marriage to non-Syrian fighters

Deir Ezzor province: The women of ISIS members, who fled out of Syria and went back to their countries, are living in harsh conditions along with their children.

Deir Ezzor went through a dark period during the control of ISIS that imposed strict laws on residents and married its immigrant members to Syrian women. After the collapse of ISIS and the escape of the immigrant members, many of these men left behind their wives and children alone in harsh conditions, some of which lost their sons, while some of the children went with their fathers to their countries.

“Om Ahmed” from Al-Baseera City tells SOHR: “my father was killed with ISIS in Al-Baghouz Town when I was 12 years old, and he married me to an Egyptian fighter of ISIS, who took my son and fled to Turkey and I found myself alone.”
