Two separate crimes in HTS-held areas | Elderly man slaughtered in Atamah camps and father strangles his daughter to death following family disputes

Idlib province: A father strangled his eight-year-old daughter to death during her visit to him in Harzah town in northern Idlib countryside, within HTS-held area, after he had asked to see her.

 

According to reliable SOHR sources, the father is separated from the mother who lives with her family, and he killed his daughter as an act of revenge against his wife.

 

Meanwhile, a 90-year-old man was slaughtered with a sharp tool in Atamah camps in northern Idlib countryside, while the reasons behind the crime and the killers are still unknown.

 

Since early 2024, SOHR has documented 56 incidents of security disorder in areas controlled by HTS and opposition factions in Idlib city and surrounding villages. These incidents left 44 people dead and 65 others injured. The fatalities are distributed as follows;

 

  • 38 civilians, including six children and eight women.

 

  • A member of the Turkistan Islamic Party.

 

  • Four HTS members.

 

  • A member of Al-Sham Corps.

 

  • Three unidentified persons.
