Having showed up fraud in People’s Assembly elections | Regime security services arrest journalist in Homs

Homs province: Regime security services arrested a journalist called “Wahid Yazbak,” a member of Homs province council and a member of the Syrian journalists union.

The journalist was arrested during a session held by the council for “detecting and showing up a fraud in People’s Assembly elections during a livestream.

“Yazbak” is known for stances supporting the Syrian regime, and he had ran previously for the Syrian People’s Assembly, and he also criticised, on many occasions, the corruption in regime government and its indifference regarding the poor living conditions of Syrians.

The arrest of “Yazbak” has triggered a state of public discontent, where this is considered a violation to the laws in force in the local administration, according to which the members of local councils are granted immunity during meetings, where arrest warrants are required to be approved by the council in question.

On September 10, SOHR sources reported that members of the political intelligence of the regime forces arrested two brothers from Kafar Al-Zeit in Wadi Barada area west of Rif Dimashq province, three days earlier while they were passing through a checkpoint in Madaya town west of Rif Dimashq province, and they were taken to one of the security branches, without knowing their fate and the charges against them.
