Security chaos | Armed clashes erupt between two families in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Violent clashes erupted with light and medium weapons between “Al-Ghanash” Family and “Al-Dahsh” Family in Gharanij Town eastern of Deir Ezzor, due to disputes over a wedding that escalation to armed clashes that are still ongoing. However, no casualties have been reported yet. This coincided with a state of tension and chaos and appeals to dignitaries to interfere and end the conflict.

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 101 since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 58 people, including three women and three children, dead and 198 others injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

• Deir Ezzor: 64 infightings left 18 persons, including a child and two women, dead and 108 others injured.

• Al-Raqqah: 18 infightings left 23 people, including a child and a woman, dead and 47 others injured.

• Aleppo: Seven infightings left five civilians dead and 18 others, including an Asayish member, injured.

• Al-Hasakah: 12 infightings left 12 persons, including a woman, dead and 24 others injured.
