Under influence of drugs | Young man shoots his father dead before killing himself in Al-Hasakah city

Al-Hasakah province: A young man shot his father dead then he shot himself dead in Al-Azeizeiyah neighbourhood in Al-Hasakah city.

 

According to reliable SOHR sources, the father had beat his son, because he (the son) was under the influence of drugs, which spurred the son to kill his father before committing suicide.

 

SDF-held areas have witnessed noticeable escalation in murder crimes in light of ongoing security chaos and proliferation of arms among civilians.

 

The Syrian Observatory has documented 99 murder crimes in SDF-controlled areas since early 2024, where domestic violence and armed robbery were behind some of these murders, while motivations behind the others remained unknown. These murders left 105 civilian fatalities, including 79 men, 11 children and 15 women; they are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Al-Hasakah: 30 civilians, including four children and six women.

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 36 civilians, including three children and four women.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: 28 civilians, including four children and four women.

 

  • Aleppo: 11 civilians; ten civilians, including a woman, in Manbij and a man in Ain Al-Arab (Kobani).
