Dumped near dumpster | Civilian found de*ad in mysterious circumstances in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: The body of a civilian was found near a dumpster in Al-Sha’afah city in Deir Ezzor countryside. However, the reasons behind the crime remain unknown, where local authorities intervened and handed the body over to his family.

 

This coincides with the escalating crime rate in all zones of influence across Syria.

 

The Syrian Observatory has documented 97 murder crimes in SDF-controlled areas since early 2024, where domestic violence and armed robbery were behind some of these murders, while motivations behind the others remained unknown. These murders left 102 civilian fatalities, including 76 men, 11 children and 15 women; they are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Al-Hasakah: 29 civilians, including four children and six women.

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 34 civilians, including three children and four women.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: 28 civilians, including four children and four women.

 

  • Aleppo: 11 civilians; ten civilians, including a woman, in Manbij and a man in Ain Al-Arab (Kobani).
