Dea*th toll update | 13 members of Iran-backed militias kil*led and injured by Israeli airstrikes on four positions in Homs and Hama

The Israeli airstrikes targeted four positions in Homs and Hama countryside, targeting a weapon depot north western of Hama, the administration of the 47th Brigade and a battery of the air-defence in Ma’arin Mountain, where members of the “Iranian Revolutionary Guards” militia and Syrian and non-Syrian Iran-backed militias are stationed.

Moreover, Israeli forces targeted fuel stores that belong to Syrian members of the Lebanese Hezbollah in western Homs countryside western to Homs refinery, on the road between Safita and Homs Villages near Khirbt Al-Tina, and targeted a another position southern to Ma’arin Mountain, where the head of the Rapid Intervention Squad that is backed by the “Iranian Revolutionary Guards” militia is present.

Accordingly, three members of Iran-backed militias were killed and ten others were injured in the attacks, amid information regarding casualties of non-Syrian people.

Missiles of the air-defence were also launched from Hama Military Airport, where the air-defence attempted to block the Israeli attack, but failed to do so and the missiles reached their targets, amid heavy smoke rising from most of the targeted sites and firefighting teams heading to extinguish the fire, while a weapons depot and fuel store were destroyed.

SOHR documented 60 attacks in 2024: 43 airstrikes and 17 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 124 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 181 combatants and injured 113 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

* 23 Iranian members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

* 37 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

* 18 Iraqi persons.

* 47 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

* 14 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

* 42 regime soldiers.

In addition, those attacks left 17 civilians, including a little girl and three women, dead and nearly 36 other civilians injured.

The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:

* Damascus and Rif Dimashq: 23 attacks.

* Daraa: 16 attacks.

* Homs: Ten attacks.

* Al-Quneitra: Six attacks.

* Tartus: Three attack.

* Deir Ezzor: One attack.

SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
