Significant Turkish escalation | Two drone attacks take place in areas in Al-Hasakah in 72 hours

Turkish drones have carried out two attacks in Al-Hasakah during 72 hours, in a significant Turkish escalation on areas in northern and eastern of Syria.

On August 19, a combatant was killed and another was injured due to an attack carried out by a Turkish drone on a position near the heart and eye hospital in the industrial neighbourhood in Al-Qamishly city in northern Al-Hasakah.

Earlier today, a drone of the Turkish forces attacked Karatshuk Mountain in Al-Malkiyah (Derek) countryside north eastern of Al-Hasakah. However, no casualties were reported.

Since early 2024, the Syrian Observatory has reported 91 airstrikes carried out by Turkish drones on different positions in areas controlled by Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES). These attacks killed 29 persons and injured over 27 combatants and 16 civilians, including three women and three children.

The fatalities are distributed as follows:

25 members of military formations operating in SDF-controlled areas.

Three regime soldiers.

One civilian.

Al-Hasakah: 65 airstrikes left three regime soldiers, 18 combatants and one civilian dead.

Al-Raqqah: Four airstrikes left three combatants dead.

Aleppo: 21 airstrikes left four combatants dead.
