Following news of opening of Abu Al-Zandin crossing | Al-Bab city witnesses popular tension

Aleppo province: Al-Bab city in “Euphrates Shield” area in the eastern countryside of Aleppo witnessed a state of popular tension after news of the intention and readiness of the Turkish-backed factions to officially open Abu Al-Zandin crossing in the coming hours, and the preparation of a number of commercial trucks in preparation for their entry through the crossing, which connects regime-held areas and the areas held by the Turkish-backed factions.
Civilians expressed their complete rejection of the opening of the crossing, warning that this could lead to drug smuggling and the entry of car bombs, in addition to their belief that the opening of the crossing will bring economic benefit and recovery to regime-held areas.
In a related context, activists in Al-Bab city called for staging a sit-in to reject the opening of the crossing.
On June 28, SOHR reported that dozens of people from Al-Bab city and countryside and displaced people from the Deir Ezzor and Al-Raqqah gathered in front of Abu Al-Zandin crossing in eastern Aleppo within “Euphrates Shield” area, in rejection of reopening it with Russian-Turkish agreement.
The protesters stormed the crossing and destroyed all the rooms inside it, expressing their discontent.
On June 26, the Turkish-backed factions, under Turkish supervision, were working on rehabilitating buildings and roads at Abu Al-Zandin crossing in Aleppo countryside, in preparation for its opening in 48 hours.
