In fear of military response | Iran-backed militias meet in Al-Bokamal to prevent military activities against SDF from the city

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists reported that a meeting took place in the building of Military Intelligence in Al-Jomaiat neighbourhood in Al-Bokamal City eastern of Deir Ezzor, headed by the official of Al-Bokamal of the Iranian “Revolutionary Guards”, where an official of the Military Intelligence and an official of the Security Committee attended the meeting.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the attendants agreed on preventing local gunmen from carrying out military activities or attacks from Al-Bokamal or nearby villages against SDF-held areas, in fear of response by SDF and “International Coalition” Forces that might cause casualties.

On August 7, SDF thwarted an attack by local Iran-backed groups on areas eastern of Euphrates in Deir Ezzor countryside on its first day, where SDF advanced to station in the areas that they withdrew from, while the military forces prepare for a new attack on Zaiban Town to reach areas in eastern Euphrates River and threaten the US forces in Al-Omar Oil Field.
