Condemning forced deportation and expressing fear of its escalate with return of relations between Syrian and Turkish regimes | Syrians launch a “A Big Prison” campaign

Syrians launched an advocacy campaign on social media, titled “A Big Prison” denouncing the Turkish authorities’ violations against Syrian refugees in Turkey and the escalation of forced deportation campaigns against them towards northern Syria, coinciding with the return of relations between the Syrian and Turkish regimes.
Hundreds posted photos of them putting their hands on their mouths, referring to the international silence over the forcible deportations of thousands of Syrian refugees in Turkey, despite their possession of “kimlak” temporary protection cards.
The campaign participants expressed their dissatisfaction with the Turkish betrayal of the Syrians, the shift in the Turkish position regarding the Syrian issue, and the restoration of relations with the regime that killed, displaced and arrested millions of the Syrian people over the past 13 years.
Syrian refugees in Turkey fear the escalation of forced deportations against them in light of the return of the discussions on rapprochement between the Syrian and Turkish regimes and the major change in the Turkish position towards the regime and its president “Bashar Al-Assad”, where Turkey is the country hosting the largest percentage of Syrian refugees, as it was their primary destination since the beginning of the events of the Syrian revolution in 2011.
In a related context, yesterday evening, the Turkish Kayseri city witnessed attacks by “racist” Turks against Syrian refugees, as many houses and shops belonging to Syrians were burned and attacked. “Racists” also destroyed a number of Syrian cars with bulldozers, and the Syrian families lived a bloody night in the city amidst a state of panic as a result of the escalation of racist campaigns.
