With efforts of religious and social figures | Agreement that has not been implemented yet obliges regime to withdraw from Al-Anqoud roundabout in Al-Suwaidaa

Al-Suwaidaa province: Through the efforts of responsible religious bodies and civil and social bodies, both the local factions and the regime forces in Al-Suwaidaa, reached an agreement on the military point near Al-Anqoud roundabout at the northern entrance to Al-Suwaidaa city.
The agreement obliges regime forces to move away from the main street, and to turn the new location into a military point, white pledging not to erect any new checkpoints.
In return, the local factions pledge to stop the escalation and not to target the aforementioned military point, while it has not been implemented yet.
Yesterday, Al-Baath Party administration in Al-Suwaydaa City brought military reinforcements comprising vehicles equipped with medium machineguns, following attacks on the security headquarters in the city.

A cautious calm prevailed in Al-Suwaidaa city, after a bloody night that the city witnessed and violent clashes between local factions and regime forces, against the backdrop of the factions’ demand to remove a checkpoint erected by regime forces at the entrance to the city, which the factions saw as the beginning of the deployment of more military checkpoints in the city that has witnessed ongoing protests against the regime and its government for more than ten months.
