Flagrant violation of children’s rights | Armed group assaults child with psychological disorders in Afrin

Aleppo province: An armed group of the Turkish-backed “Al-Hamzah Division” faction, brutally beat a 13-year-old child, for unknown reasons, in Mahmoudiyah neighbourhood near the Industry School in Afrin city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, within “Olive Branch” areas that are under Turkey’s control.
According to SOHR activists, the child hails from Belbelko village in Rajo district in Afrin countryside, and suffers from psychological disorders. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, as a result of being assaulting brutally.
Incidents of assault and killing of children are increasing in “Olive Branch” areas by Turkish-backed armed factions, which constitutes a flagrant violation of children’s rights and protection.
On June 23, members of the Turkish-backed “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah” faction brutally beat a child and verbally abused him and his family in Jendires district in western Afrin a few days ago for unknown reasons.
