During chase by security forces | Suspect accused of “belonging to ISIS” blows himself up with grenade in Daraa countryside

Daraa province: A young man accused of “belonging to ISIS” was killed by a grenade explosion in Daraa countryside.

 

According to SOHR sources, the young man, who dressed as a woman with Niqab, was detected while travelling in Nasib town, so he attempted to escape, before he blew himself up with a grenade during the chase.

 

The young man hailed from Nasib town in the eastern countryside of Daraa, and he had moved to Al-Taybah town following an infighting with others in his hometown, where the infighting then left two of his brothers dead, while he was injured with a gunshot.

 

Since early 2024, SOHR activists have documented 99 incidents of security disorder in Daraa province, which left 136 people dead; and they are as follows:

 

  • 40 civilians, including three women and 15 children.

 

  • 35 regime soldiers, members and collaborators with regime security services.

 

  • Five men accused of “involving in drug business.”

 

  • Three members of the Russian-backed 8th Brigade.

 

  • 13 ISIS members, including a commander.

 

  • 38 members of local factions.

 

  • A regime dissident colonel.

 

  • One unidentified person.
