After years of detention | Young man dies under torture in ““notorious” Saidnaya prison

Homs province: A young man from Telthahab town, in Al-Houla area in Homs countryside, died under torture in the notorious Saidnaya military prison, after years of detention, where he was handed over as a body to his family.
Saidnaya prison is one of the largest and most notorious prisons in Syria, is known as a “human slaughterhouse” and includes hundreds of Syrians, where prisoners are subjected to the most severe forms of torture.
According to SOHR statistics, the number of people who died under torture in regime prisons and security centres in 2023 reached 48, including a woman, a regime army defector, a member of the regime’s military security service, a member of a local faction in Al-Suwaidaa, three members who had made a settlement, a regime military correspondent and a former member of the Free Army.
