Ceasefire violations | Regime bombardment on Idlib city leaves 12 civilians injured and HTS attacks regime positions in Saraqeb and Jurin

SOHR sources have reported that 12 civilians were injured, including a media activist who sustained serious injuries, due to regime bombardment on residential neighbourhoods in Idlib city.

 

Meanwhile, SOHR activists have documented the death of an HTS member in regime bombardment on the surroundings of Kafr Taal village in the western countryside of Aleppo.

 

Moreover, regime forces fired nearly 100 shells on Al-Fterah frontline in Idlib countryside.

 

On the other hand, Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham fired artillery shells and rockets on regime positions in Saraqeb, near the junction linking M4 and M5 highways, and areas in Jurin district in Hama countryside.

 

Furthermore, regime forces shelled positions in Sarmin city and its surroundings, but no casualties have been reported.

 

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that regime forces fired tens of rockets on Idlib city, where the rockets hit positions in the neighbourhoods of Al-Qusour, Wadi Al-Nasim, Al-Thawrah, Sheikh Thalath and the “Teachers’ Residences.”

 

Meanwhile, factions of “Al-Fath Al-Mubin” operations room fired rockets on the military security branch in the regime-controlled city of Khan Shaykhun in Idlib countryside. This came as a response to the regime bombardment on Idlib city which left four civilians dead.

 

On the other hand, regime forces fired artillery shells on Hursh Bayanin, the surrounding areas of Al-Fterah and Hemaymat villages and Kansafrah town in Idlib countryside.

 

SOHR sources reported earlier that a delegation of the United Nations left Sarmin city in Idlib countryside, after a position a few hundred metres away from the place where the delegation was present in the city came under regime artillery fire. It is worth noting that the delegation was conducting a tour in Sarmin city and Al-Nayrab town, near the regime-controlled city of Saraqeb.

 

On the other hand, HTS fired three rockets on Na’our Shatha village in Sahl Al-Ghab area in the north-western countryside of Hama.

 

SOHR sources had reported that four civilians, including a woman, were killed in artillery fire by regime forces on the residential neighbourhoods in Idlib city.

 

Meanwhile, HTS reacted to the regime bombardment by firing missiles on Al-Qardahah city, the hometown of the head of the Syrian regime Bashar Al-Assad, and Shahtah town in Sahil Al-Ghab in western Hama countryside.

 

Similarly, Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on regime positions in Saraqib city and its surroundings.

 

Since early 2023, SOHR has documented 344 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 534 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 237 combatants and 180 civilians, including 18 women and 42 children, injured.

 

The fatalities can be distributed as follows:

 

  • 91 civilians, including 12 women, 36 children and a civil defence member, were killed by regime forces.

 

  • 337 members of regime forces, including 22 officers.

 

  • An Afghan militiaman of “Liwaa Fatemiyoun.”

 

  • A member of the Syrian Hezbollah.

 

  • 79 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including a French jihadist.

 

  • 13 members of the jihadist faction of “Ansar Al-Tawhid.”

 

  • One member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” movement.

 

  • Two members of “Al-Sham Corps.”

 

  • One member of “Hurras Al-Din” organisation.

 

  • The Commander-in-chief of Russian Special Tasks Forces.

 

  • A militiaman of the Iranian-backed “Liwaa Al-Baqer.”

 

  • A member of “Soqour Al-Sham.”

 

  • A member of the “National Liberation Front.”

 

  • Five members of the “National Liberation Front.”
