Attempting to retake control on posts | Armed clashes erupt between Ansar Al-Tawhid faction and regime forces in Al-Malajah in Idlib

Violent clashes are erupting between Ansar Al-Tawhid faction and regime forces on the frontline of Al-Malajah village in Jabal Al-Zawiyah area in the southern countryside of Idlib, in an attempt by the regime forces to retake control on the post they lost after the attack that was carried out by the fighters of Ansar Al-Tawhid faction and their complete control on the village yesterday, and then their withdrawal from several posts.
On this context, regime forces fired heavy artillery shells on towns of Kansafrah, Al-Fatirah, Safouhen and Fuleyfel in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib. No causalities were reported.
The death toll of the attack increased to 11 regime soldiers and two members of Ansar Al-Tawhid faction, and 20 regime soldiers were injured. The number of the fatalities is likely to increase because of the presence of serious cases among the injured, in addition to information about other killed people.
Since early 2023, SOHR has documented 225 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 331 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 184 combatants and 78 civilians, including 11 women and 26 children, injured.
The fatalities can be distributed as follows:
• 26 civilians, including four women, seven children and a civil defence member, were killed by regime forces.
• 228 members of regime forces, including 13 officers.
• An Afghan militiaman of “Liwaa Fatemiyoun.”
• A member of the Syrian Hezbollah.
• 60 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including a French jihadist.
• Seven members of the jihadist faction of “Ansar Al-Tawheed.
• One member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” movement.
• Two members of “Al-Sham Corps.”
• One member of “Hurras Al-Din” organisation.
• The Commander-in-chief of Russian Special Tasks Forces.
• A militiaman of the Iranian-backed “Liwaa Al-Baqer.”
• A member of “Soqour Al-Sham.”
• A member of the “National Liberation Front.”
