Death toll update | Seven HTS members killed in two-pronged attack by regime forces on western Aleppo
SOHR sources have reported that the number fighter oh Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, who were killed in a two-pronged attack by regime forces in western Aleppo has increased to seven.
According to SOHR sources, regime forces targeted an HTS military vehicle with a shell on the frontline of Kafr Taal in west Aleppo countryside, which left casualties, before regime forces attack another military vehicle which headed to the targeted site to recover the fatalities and relief the injured fighters.
It is worth noting that the number of fatalities is expected to rise further, as attack left other fighters injured, some seriously, amid unconfirmed reports of more fatalities.
Since early 2023, SOHR has documented 221 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 311 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 165 combatants and 70 civilians, including nine women and 22 children, injured.
The fatalities can be distributed as follows:
- 23 civilians, including four women, five children and a civil defence member, were killed by regime forces.
- 217 members of regime forces, including 13 officers.
- An Afghan militiaman of “Liwaa Fatemiyoun.”
- A member of the Syrian Hezbollah.
- 58 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including a French jihadist.
- Three members of the jihadist faction of “Ansar Al-Tawheed.
- One member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” movement.
- Two members of “Al-Sham Corps.”
- One member of “Hurras Al-Din” organisation.
- The Commander-in-chief of Russian Special Tasks Forces.
- A militiaman of the Iranian-backed “Liwaa Al-Baqer.”
- A member of “Soqour Al-Sham.”
- A member of the “National Liberation Front.”
