First massacre by Russian fighter jets in 2023 | Number of casualties in airstrikes on Idlib exceeds 40
SOHR sources have reported that the number of people who were killed in today’s airstrikes by Russian fighter jets on the “de-escalation zone” has increased to 11; they are as follows:
- Nine people: six civilians and three combatants, were killed in airstrikes on the outskirts of Jisr Al-Shughour city.
- Two persons: a civilian and a member of the “Turkistan Islamic Party,” were killed in airstrikes on the outskirts of Idlib city.
Meanwhile, 30 other people were injured in Jisr Al-Shughour, some seriously, which may raise the number of fatalities.
It is worth noting that this is the first massacre by Russian fighter jets in Syrian territory in 2023.
SOHR sources have just reported that causalities of the heavy airstrikes since the early hours of today on separated areas controlled by HTS and the factions within “Putin-Erdogan” area, increased, where four civilians were killed and more than 25 other civilians were injured, due to the airstrikes on Jesr Al-Shughour west of Idlib, and the number is likely to raise because critical injuries, in addition to information about two other killed persons. Three combatants also were killed today by the Russian airstrikes on Al-Jesr area, in addition to killed and injured people of the Turkistan Islamic Party due to the airstrikes on military positions of them in the western outskirts of Idlib city.
