Coming from Damascus | 4th Division in Al-Mayadin imposes huge royalties on trucks carrying goods

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have monitored dozens of trucks carrying goods from Damascus waiting at checkpoints of the 4th Division in Al-Mayadin city in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, where the trucks were prevented from entering to the city.
The checkpoints demand 1,000 USDs of royalties on each truck, doubling the prices in local markets.
According to reliable SOHR sources, the 4th Division has recently started deploying new checkpoints in the vicinity of Al-Mayadin city and at entrances of Boqros town to tighten its control over the region and impose taxes and royalties on trucks carrying food supplies and fuel tanks.
On May 12, SOHR activists reported that Al-Mayadin city “the capital of Iranian militias in eastern of Syria” in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, witnessed almost complete closure of commercial stores in the city, protesting against the 4th Division, after their checkpoints that are deployed at entrances and exits of the city continuously imposed royalties on all trucks carrying commercial materials towards markets and stores of the city, where the merchants and owners of stores were angry because of these royalties that cause a rise in prices of the materials and the decline of approach by civilians to buy goods due to the high prices.٪ ماكباستيبين٪
