Military escalation | Regime soldier kil-led in shelling by factions on military positions in Aleppo

A regime soldier was killed due to shelling by factions of “Al-Fath Al-Mubin” operation room with artillery shells on regime positions in the 46th Regiment in western Aleppo countryside within “Putin-Erdogan” area.

A few hours ago, SOHR sources reported that “Al-Fath Al-Mubin” operations room fired artillery shells on positions of regime forces and the 46th Regiment in the western countryside of Aleppo.

On the other hand, regime forces shelled the eastern outskirts of Al-Atareb in the western countryside of Aleppo in “Putin-Erdogan” area, killing a member of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and injuring five civilians, including a woman, and they were taken to the hospital.

It is worth noting that the “de-escalation zone” experiences frequent gunfire, infiltration operations and exchange of bombardment between regime forces and opposition factions.

Since early 2023, SOHR has documented 49 operations in the “de-escalation zone,” including attacks, gunfire by snipers and bombardment, which left 103 combatants and civilians dead. In addition, these operations left over 53 combatants and 11 civilians, including children and a woman, injured.

The fatalities can be distributed as follows:

• Five civilians were killed by regime forces.

• 70 members of regime forces, including six officers.

• 25 members of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, including a French jihadist.

• Two members of the jihadist faction of “Ansar Al-Tawheed.

• One member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” movement.
