First convoy after earthquake | Relief assistance delivered to Al-Ashrafiyah and Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhoods, after mediation by dignitaries

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported the delivery of a humanitarian aid convoy provided by the Syrian Red Crescent to Al-Ashrafiyah and Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhoods, which are besieged by the 4th Division, in Aleppo city. The delivery of this convoy, which is the first humanitarian aid convoy to be delivered to the two neighbourhoods since the earthquake hit Syria on February 6, comes after mediation by the region’s dignitaries with the aim of allowing humanitarian assistance to be delivered to that area. Two other convoys are supposed to cross to the two neighbourhoods in hours.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that an aid convoy comprising 20 trucks provided from the Syrian Red Crescent was supposed to enter, today, Al-Ashrafiyah and Al-Shaikh Maqsoud neighbourhoods, which are besieged by the 4th Division, after mediation by notables in the area.

On February 16, reliable SOHR sources reported that a section of the medical team that accompanied the trucks managed to enter, while the rest of the trucks and ambulances were prevented from entering for five days.

Over 3,000 displaced families are present inside Al-Shuhabaa area, after their houses were damaged by the earthquake.
