Tense calm prevails in NE Syria and Aleppo

Tense calm is prevailing in areas in north and east Syria and Aleppo countryside, interrupted by sporadic bombardment on frontlines between Turkish forces and their proxy factions on one hand, and SDF, affiliated military formations and Kurdish forces on the other.

 

SOHR sources have reported that Turkish forces fired several shells this morning on Binah and Mayyasah villages in Aleppo countryside. Otherwise, calm has prevailed in the region since yesterday evening.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that Turkish forces stationed in Jalbar base in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside fired several artillery shells on the surrounding areas of Bayinah village in Shirawa district and Kasht’ar in Sharaan district where Kurdish and regime forces are deployed in Afrin countryside in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

 

On the other hand, Turkish forces shelled, with artillery, regime positions in the surrounding areas of the villages of Jayshan, Kharabisan, Burj Al-Syriatel, Jarqali and Qarmough in the eastern and western countryside of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in east Aleppo countryside.

 

SOHR sources also reported that Turkish forces and their proxy factions stationed in “Peace Spring” areas fired artillery shells on positions in Abu Rasin town and the villages of Rebay’at, Kherbet Sha’eer and Tel Al-Ward in Tel Tamr countryside in western Al-Hasakah, amid displacement of civilians from the villages which came under attack to safer areas.
