“De-escalation zone” | Large number of troops of Turkish forces change shift in Idlib and Aleppo

SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces have replaced a large number of troops stationed in the “de-escalation zone,” where the operation lasted from yesterday evening until this morning. According to SOHR sources, seven convoys of the Turkish army left Syria, along with the entry of other seven convoys into Syrian territory, via the crossings of Kherbet Al-Jouz in western Idlib and Bab Al-Hawa in the northern countryside. The recently-arrived convoys comprised tanks, personnel carriers and armoured vehicles.

On October 29, SOHR activists monitored the withdrawal of a Turkish military convoy from the De-Confliction zone towards Turkish territory. The convoy comprised seven tanks and ten armoured vehicles and their crews, in addition to over 15 fully loaded personnel carriers.

While on October 26, SOHR activists monitored the withdrawal of a Turkish military convoy in southern Idlib countryside, comprising ten tanks and several armoured vehicles, in addition to nearly 20 personnel carriers towards Turkish territory. This came as part of the policy of Turkish forces to reduce the number of their forces deployed in “De-Escalation Zone” after the ongoing calm for three years.

Also, on October 14, Turkish forces brought a military convoy for exchange purposes, comprising seven tanks and dozens of armoured vehicles and trucks, from Turkish territory through “Bab Al-Hawa” crossing towards Turkish checkpoints in eastern Idlib countryside.
