SDF hands over 50 IS-IS members to Iraqi Anti-Terro*rism Forces
SOHR activists have reported that SDF handed over 50 Iraqi ISIS members, who were arrested in an SDF prison in NE of Syria, to the Directorate of Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism in the Iraqi city Ninewy, through Al-Walid crossing on borders with Kurdistan-Iraq region.
On August 12, reliable sources informed SOHR that 150 families of nearly 620 displaced Iraqi people, all of families of ISIS members, have left Al-Hawl camp in the far south-eastern region of Al-Hasakah countryside today. This comes as a part of ongoing operations of the evacuation of Iraqis from Al-Hawl camp and repatriating them to their homeland under joint coordination between the administration of the camp and Iraqi government.
It is worth noting that this was the fourth batch of Iraqi families to be evacuated from Al-Hawl camp since early 2022, at a time when evacuation of Syrians from the camp had been suspended since January.
On the other hand, Syria Democratic Forces handed over nearly 50 Iraqi ISIS prisoners: member and commanders who have been held in SDF prisons, to representatives of the Iraqi government.
